A study on variable rate fertilizer with soil fertility map to sugar beet

A study on variable rate fertilizer with soil fertility map to sugar beet

Journal of the Japanese Society of Agricultural Machinery 66(1): 98-103

We advanced the development of the variable rate fertilizer applicator (VRFA) for row crops as sugarbeets and beans. VRFA could be operated with the application map, the tractor position and the speed measured by RTK-GPS (real-time kinematic-global positioning system). Nitrogen and phosphate application maps were made by soil nitrogen and phosphoric acid samples taken from the grid size 25 m x 25 m.
