Anti-Brucella abortus and anti-Brucella canis antibodies occurrence in rural and urban dogs from Monte Negro county, Rondonia, Brazil

Serum samples from 304 dogs living in the urban areas as well as rural areas of Monte Negro Country, Rondonia State, Brazil were examined for Brucella abortus reactivity using the rose bengal test (RBT), Standard agglutination test (SAT) and Mercaptoethanol Test (MET) and for B. canis reactivity using immunodiffusion test (AGID) and immunodiffusion test with 2-Mercaptoethanol (ME-AGID). Serum was considered positive if it reacts in the MET or ME-AGID.
