In a field experiment conducted during 1998/99-2001/02 in Gujarat, India, to determine the avoidable losses in cotton hybrid 8 due to Meloidogyne javanica pathotype 2, there was a 10.4% increase in seed cotton yield and a 40.5% reduction in root-knot index due to carbofuran application.
