The use of B. thuringiensis as a biological pest control agent requires basic studies related to its mode of action in the selected target insect. Techniques such as the use of brush border membrane vesicles (BBMV) obtained from epithelial gut tissues of insects have become a valuable tool around the world for studying this mechanism in B. thuringiensis proteins.
