Waxy maize landraces are abundant in Yunnan and Guizhou, China. The genetic diversity of 38 waxy maize landraces from Yunnan and Guizhou were analysed using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. The landraces were screened with 50 primers that generated 3 to 6 polymorphic bands, with an average of 4.13 bands.
