Comparative study on fatty acid content in milk of Tsigay and Karakachan sheep

The study on fatty acid content was performed in bulk sheep milk obtained from Tsigay and Karakachan sheep raised in the Sredna Stara Planina region. Fatty acids were separated by means of a system of 2 gas chromatographs, necessary for the complete separation of the different fatty acids and their isomers. The obtained data showed that the milk of Karakachan sheep was with a higher dry matter, milk fat and total protein content than that of Tsigay sheep.
