Comparison of germination criteria in red fescue (Festuca rubra ssp. litoralis), perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) and Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis)

Comparison of germination criteria in red fescue (Festuca rubra ssp. litoralis), perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) and Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis)

Seed Science and Technology 32(2): 341-354

Several different germination criteria are used in germination studies. The aim of this study was to evaluate three different germination criteria in three grass species by comparing each criterion with the normal seedling criterion and by comparing mean germination time (MGT). The three species were slender creeping red fescue (Festuca rubra ssp. litoralis), perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) and Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis).
