Competition policy and food and agricultural sector in the European Union

The food and agricultural sector in the EU is characterized by the coexistence of small farms for production and large companies for input supply, food processing and retail. The paper assesses the implementation of the EU competition policy in the food and agricultural sector, based on EU Council regulations 4064/89, 1310/97 and 26/62.
