Competitive sorption behavior between p-nitroaniline and benzene and its monosubstituent in sediment-water system



China Environmental Science 24(3): 327-331



The competitive sorption between p-nitroaniline as main solute and benzene and its monosubstituents such as toluene, monochlorobenzene, nitrobenzene, phenol, aniline and benzoic acid as co-solute in the sediment-water system was studied. Results showed that under identical relative concentrations, co-solute that easily formed H-bonding with organic matter of sediment had stronger competitive power than those that not easily formed H-bonding.
