Components of variation in maize (Zea mays L.)

Components of variation for yield and its related traits were studied in maize involving 12 inbred lines crossed in a 12 x 12 half diallel set and three controls (commercial hybrids) at two locations in Himachal Pradesh, India i.e. Palampur and Bajaura. Both additive and dominance components were important with the predominance of dominance effects for the majority of the traits.
