Composition and chemical variability of the bark oil of Cedrelopsis grevei H. Baillon from Madagascar

Flavour and Fragrance Journal 18(6): 532-538

A commercial sample of Cedrelopsis grevei H. Baillon from Madagascar was repeatedly chromatographed and the combined analysis of all the fractions by GC, GC-MS and 13C-NMR led to the identification of 114 components. The major constituents were (E)- beta -caryophyllene (9.3%), alpha -copaene (7.7%), alpha -selinene (5.8%), delta -cadinene (4.9%), beta -selinene (4.5%), alpha -humulene (3.3%) and beta -bisabolene (2.8%).
