Damage in sunflower fields and in hybrid multiplication caused by species of the Coleoptera (Anthiciadae) family

Damage in sunflower fields and in hybrid multiplication caused by species of the Coleoptera (Anthiciadae) family

Helia 26(39): 101-107

ISSN/ISBN: 1018-1806

The maturation feeding habits of tiny beetles (4-6 mm) on sunflower heads were observed in comparative studies involving different sunflower cultivars in industrial scale sunflower fields in Hungary during 1994. During the identification of these beetles, it was shown that they belong to the species of the groups Coleoptera, Heteromera, to the family of Coleoptera, Anthicidae and to the two genera Notoxus and Formicomus.
