Detection of gamma rays influence in Triticum aestivum L. by some agronomic traits and biochemical genetic analysis

The effects of gamma irradiation (150, 250 and 350 Gy) were detected on the M1 generation of wheat cultivars Sahel-1, Giza-168, Sakha-93 and Sids-1 in Egypt. Gamma rays at 150 Gy increased the following parameters: seed germination, seedling height, plant height, tiller number/plant, spike number/plant, 100-grain weight and grain yield/plant. At higher rates, these traits were reduced.
