An experiment was conducted in Ordu, Turkey, in 2002 on 5-year-old chestnuts to determine the reactions of some genotypes selected from the Blacksea Region against the chestnut blight disease agent Cryphonectria parasitica. Three genotypes were selected from Samsun (552-8, 554-14 and 556-8) and 5 genotypes selected from Sinop (SE 3-12, SE 18-32, SE 21-2, SE 21-9 and SA 5-1) and a virulent isolate of the pathogen (S 78-02) obtained from Salpazar district (Samsun) were used in the study.
