Differences between Chenopodium quinoa and the weed Chenopodium album

Differences between Chenopodium quinoa and the weed Chenopodium album

Planta Daninha 21(3): 487-491

C. quinoa can be confused with the weed C. album at the early phase of development. Differences between these species became apparent after flowering. C. album exhibited profuse branching with axillary and terminal racemes, whereas C. quinoa had terminal panicles. C. album showed a black pericarp, while C. quinoa showed a light-coloured pericarp.
