Distribution of airborne fluoride in organs of rice plant and its effect on fluoride content in brown rice

Open-top fumigation chambers were developed to determine the effects of gaseous fluoride on the fluoride content of the roots, stem and leaf blades of rice plant and brown rice. It was found that fluoride accumulated mainly in the leaves. Airborne gaseous fluoride did not affect fluoride content in the roots, while fluoride accumulation in the seeds depended on the fluoride concentration in the air only after the seeds appear.
