The effect of packaging with high density polyethylene (HDPE, 150 and 200 gauge), low density polypropylene (LDPP, 100 and 200 gauge) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC, 100 and 125 gauge) on the ascorbic acid content and loss of decay in stored aonla (E. officinalis Chakaiya) fruits was investigated. Fruits were packed and kept in the closed bags or packed with newspapers (control) at room temperature.
