Groundnuts JL-24 were treated with Rhizobium or phosphobacterium, and supplied with 0.21 or 0.42 kg Co/ha in a field experiment conducted in Mohanpur, West Bengal, India during the kharif season of 2001. Plant height, number of branches per plant, leaf area index, dry matter accumulation, and number and dry weight of nodule per plant, and leghaemoglobin content were higher with Rhizobium than phosphobacterium treatment.
