Effect of different milk feeding schedules on the growth and feed conversion efficiencies in Holstein Friesian and Brown Swiss calves

Effect of different milk feeding schedules on the growth and feed conversion efficiencies in Holstein Friesian and Brown Swiss calves

Indian Journal of Animal Sciences 73(11): 1278-1280

In this study, 2 different milk-feeding schedules were developed and their effects on the growth, feed conversion efficiencies and gains in body measurements of Holstein-Friesian and Brown Swiss calves were investigated. Calves heavier than 35 kg were offered 4.5 kg/day of milk, whereas 3.5 kg/day of milk was offered to calves of less than 35 kg liveweight; these calves were subjected for 8 weeks to a new milk-feeding schedule called programme A.
