The effect of direct and residual fertilizer application on the growth and yield of maize in a groundnut-maize cropping system was investigated during the kharif seasons of 2002 and 2003 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Groundnut was cultivated during summer, while maize was cultivated during kharif. Treatments included 2 direct and 212 residual fertilizer treatments.
