Effect of early and delayed mounting at different maturation level on commercial characters of bivoltine hybrid silkworm (Bombyx mori L)

Effect of early and delayed mounting at different maturation level on commercial characters of bivoltine hybrid silkworm (Bombyx mori L)

Bulletin of Indian Academy of Sericulture 7(1): 41-47

New bivoltine silkworm hybrid (CSR2 x CSR4) was reared under optimum temperature and humidity conditions, and mounted 24, 18, 12 and 6 h before and after the actual maturation time. Cocoon (cocooning percentage, pupal mortality, single cocoon weight, single shell weight and shell ratio) and reeling parameters (average filament length, non-breakable filament length, filament size, renditta, raw silk percentage and reelability) were studied.
