Effect of methionine and lysine supplementation on rumen fermentation profiles in buffaloes

Rumen fermentation study was carried out on six rumen fistulated Murrah male buffaloes divided into two groups in a randomized block design. The control (T0) animals received a basal diet containing concentrate mixture (CP 22.19%), wheat straw ad lib and 2 kg of green oats daily, but the supplemented group also received methionine (10 g/d) and lysine (20 g/d) treatment (T1). The mean value of pH was significantly (P<0.01) higher in control than treatment group (6.67+or-0.02 vs. 6.49+or-0.02).
