A field experiment was conducted during the monsoon season of 1997-98 at the Department of Horticulture, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani (Maharashtra, India), to study the effect of organic and inorganic nutrient sources on the growth, yield and nutrient uptake by tomato on a calcareous Vertisol (Typic Haplusterts).
