Effect of seedling age on seed yield and seed quality attributes in rice (Oryza sativa) cv. Pusa Basmati-1

The effect of seedling age (21, 31, 41 and 51 days) on seed yield and seed quality (represented by 12 yield attributes) of rice Pusa Basmati-1 was investigated during kharif seasons of 1998 and 1999 in New Delhi, India. The highest yield of 70 q/ha was obtained in plots with 21-day-old seedlings, followed by 31-day-old seedlings. Seed yield and quality reduction was observed in seedlings aged 31 days and higher.
