In a field experiment conducted in Shinshu, Japan, all summer-to-autumn-flowering chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium (Dendranthema morifolium)) cultivars (Iwanohakusen, Fukashinotakumi, Seiun and Summer-yellow) sprayed with 0.1-1.0 mg 6-benzylaminopurine (6BAP) flowered earlier by 2.2-3.9 days than the controls. However, 6BAP at 10 mg/litre inhibited flowering.
