Populations of 204 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) of F12 and F13 of Zhenshan 97 x Minghui 63 (an elite indica hybrid rice combination) were used. Relationships between root morphological and physiological traits at heading stage and the grain yield (GY) were studied using a solution-culture test in a shed covered by nets.
