Efficacy of inseticides to control root froghopper, Mahanarva fimbriolata (Stal) (Hemiptera: Cercopidae), in sugarcane

The efficacy of thiamethoxan 250 WG (1.2 kg/ha), carbofuran 100 G (25 kg/ha), carbofuran 350 SC (8 litre/ha), fipronil 800 WG (0.25kg/ha) and terbufos 50 G (50 kg/ha) against sugarcane root froghopper (Mahanarva fimbriolata) was investigated in Guaira, Sao Paulo, Brazil. All insecticides decreased pest infestations during the first 50 days, but only thiamethoxan was effective after 90 days.
