Efficacy of pesticides against field insect pests of Bt cotton

Three genetically modified cultivars of cotton (MECH-184, MECH-162 and MECH-12) and their non-Bt counterparts were sown in New Delhi, India. Seeds were treated with imidacloprid (7 g/kg) before sowing to protect against sucking pests and millipedes. The crop was raised following normal agronomic practices and populations of jassids and thrips were observed after 30 days of sowing.
