Efficacy of urea in integration with Azolla and vermicompost in rainfed rice (Oryza sativa) production and their residual effect on soil properties

An experiment conducted during the rainy seasons of 1999 and 2000 in Imphal, Manipur, India to study the efficacy of urea in integration with Azolla and vermicompost in rainfed lowland rice (O. sativa) indicated that the integration of chemical fertilizer with Azolla improved the yield attributes and yield of rice. Effective substitution of the recommended N dose of rice could be done up to 33% by vermicompost.
