Evaluation and comparison of serological tests for detection of infectious bursal disease viral antigen in bursal sample

This study was conducted to evaluate 4 different immunological tests for the detection of infectious bursal disease (IBD) antigen in bursa samples by observing their sensitivity and specificity. 190 samples were tested individually using agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID), counterimmunoelectrophoresis (CIE), coagglutination (Co-A) and dot-ELISA tests. Results showed an insignificant difference among the 4 immunological tests in detecting the IBD viral antigen in bursal samples.
