Evaluation of the microbiological quality of calendula (Calendula officinalis), cultivated in the west of Parana and utilized for the manufacturing of colours

Twelve samples of Calendula officinalis flowers collected from Parana, Brazil, from July to November 2002 were tested for microbial contamination. Among the samples, 2 exceeded the highest allowable limit set by the World Health Organization for mould and yeast.
