Exploitable fertility restoration in cytoplasmic male-sterile line of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) with Moricandia arvensis cytoplasm

Exploitable fertility restoration in cytoplasmic male-sterile line of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) with Moricandia arvensis cytoplasm

Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 74(11): 597-599

ISSN/ISBN: 0019-5022

The fertility-restoration ability of a fertile genotype occurring within the Moricandia arvensis cytoplasmic male-sterile line (CMS) of Pusa Bold Indian mustard was examined for 2 crop seasons of 2001/2002 and 2002/2003, by comparing the seed setting (%) in the siliquae, developed under self- and open-pollinations on 10 random plants, of hybrid between cytoplasmic male-sterile and fertile genotype.
