Expression of NR gene and related responses under ethylene and chill in tomato

Expression of NR gene and related responses under ethylene and chill in tomato

Journal of China Agricultural University 8(3): 15-18

The growth and physiology, as well as the expression of the NR gene of tomato subjected to chilling and ethylene stress were studied. Chilling temperature (5 degrees C) inhibited the expression of the NR gene, maintained the cytomembrane intact, and lessened and delayed symptoms of chlorosis and senescence in tomato seedlings. Exogenous ethylene increased the plant cytomembrane permeability, although chilling postponed the process.
