Field evaluation of Bt transgenic cotton hybrids against sucking pests and bollworms

A field experiment was conducted in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, during 2002/03 on 5 Bt transgenic cotton (2 Bt, 20 Bt, 134 Bt, 138 Bt and 144 Bt) to determine their reaction to sucking pests (jassids, Amrasca devastans (Amrasca biguttula biguttula); aphids, Aphis gossypii; thrips, Thrips tabaci; whiteflies, Bemisia tabaci) and bollworms (Earias vittella, Pectinophora gossypiella, Helicoverpa armigera).
