Growth response of sunflower to sodium chloride salinity at contrasting levels of nitrogen

Dry and saline soils are known for their low nutrient status and crops grown on such soils experience nutrient deficiency in addition to the adverse effects of salt stresses. To examine the effect of different nitrogen regimes on the nutrient status of sunflower (Helianthus annuus) an experiment was conducted in glasshouse conditions. Some 24-day-old plants of Hisun 33 were supplied with N at 4, 8 and 12 mM for 21 days.
