Influence of certain environmental factors on red hairy caterpillar Amsacta albistriga Walker

An experiment was conducted during the 2000/01 kharif season in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India, to evaluate the influence environmental factors, namely rainfall, relative humidity, temperature and light intensity, on Amsacta albistriga moth emergence. Two light traps were used, namely the Anantapur and funnel type light traps. Moths trapped in light traps were counted at night from July to September. Meteorological data, temperature, relative humidity and rainfall were recorded.
