Influence of nitrogen fertilization on potato yield and quality of new potato table varieties cultivated on medium-heavy soils
Biuletyn Instytutu Hodowli i Aklimatyzacji Roslin 232: 157-165
The aim of the field trials carried out at the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute in Bonin (Poland) in the years 2000-02 was to assess the influence of nitrogen fertilizer application on tuber yield, its quality and storage stability. The highest marketable yield was obtained with cultivars Wawrzyn (53.5 t.ha-1) and Wolfram (43.2 t.ha-1), and the lowest was with Wiking (36.8 t.ha-1). All tested potato cultivars exhibited high nitrogen requirements.
