Seeds of H. perforatum derived from Zolotodolinskii were sown in May 1995 at the experimental station of Tartu University, Estonia, then in August seedlings were planted out at various spacings: 20 x 20, 30 x 30 and 40 x 40 cm, with 46 plants in each variant. In 1996 and 1997, data were obtained on plant height in June, July and August, number of vegetative and reproductive stems per plant, and contents of biologically active substances in above-ground parts in August.
