Potted wheat plants grown on sandy clay loam (S1) and clay loam soils (S2) were treated with 0, 10 and 20 kg P/ha, 0, 5, 10 and 15 kg Zn/ha sandy clay loam (S1) and clay loam (S2). Increasing P levels significantly increased the grains per ear, test weight, grain yield and straw yield of wheat. Grains per ear, test weight, grain and straw yields increased significantly only up to 10 kg Zn/ha; beyond this level, adverse effects on the yield were observed.
