Kraft paper properties from Pinus maximinoi H.E. Moore and Pinus taeda L. juvenile wood

A study was conducted to evaluate the juvenile wood fibre quality of Pinus maximinoi compared to P. taeda. The material was sampled from 15 11-year-old trees from fast-grown plantations in Ventania municipality, Parana, Brazil, and were subjected to sulfate pulping. The material was from 1.30 m (breast-height diameter) disks. Experimental cookings were conducted with 1000 g dry-basis wood chips.
