Long-term selection for body weight in Japanese quail under Egyptian conditions. 2 - Correlated response of growth traits

Long-term selection for body weight in Japanese quail under Egyptian conditions. 2 - Correlated response of growth traits

Egyptian Poultry Science Journal 23(3): 669-686

Data on two lines of Japanese quails (selected, L5 and control, L1) were utilized in a selection study for improving body weight at 6 weeks of age. After 17 generations of individual phenotypic selection, the correlated responses of selection showed that females were significantly heavier than males in the selected and control lines.
