Methods for long-term conservation of Norway spruce and Oak embryogenic lines

Methods for long-term conservation of Norway spruce and Oak embryogenic lines

Buletinul Universitatii de Stiinte Agricole si Medicina Veterinara Cluj Napoca, Seria Zootehnie si Biotehnologii 60: 292-296

Some practical methods for the conservation of embryogenic lines, applied to forest trees (oak, Quercus robur, and Norway spruce, Picea abies f. pendula), are reviewed. Simple and not too expensive methods, based on encapsulation and cryotechniques, are compared with the classical ones, from the point-of-view of the efficiency of recovering and re-growth.
