Occurrence of natural enemies on red hairy caterpillar (Amsacta albistriga Wlk.) in rainfed groundnut

Occurrence of natural enemies on red hairy caterpillar (Amsacta albistriga Wlk.) in rainfed groundnut

Insect Environment 10(4): 147

Field studies were conducted in 50 fields in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, during the months of July, August and September of the 2000 and 2001 kharif seasons, to survey and isolate the natural enemies of the red hairy Amsacta albistriga larvae in rainfed groundnuts. Out of 63 mandals, 20 were selected where A. albistriga is endemic. Egg masses were collected from the field during August and kept in the laboratory for hatching.
