Pathogenesis of glomerulonephritis in dogs. Part II

Pathogenesis of glomerulonephritis in dogs. Part II

Zycie Weterynaryjne 79(9): 482-488

Glomerulonephritis results most often from the immune mediated mechanisms involving antibodies of the glomerular basement membrane or the deposition of soluble immune complexes within glomeruli. Microscopically, immune-complex glomerulonephritis has several histopathologic forms. Lesions in glomeruli may be described as proliferative, membranous, or membrano-proliferative. In the second part of this review the pathogenesis of immune-complex glomerulonephritis in dogs was described.
