The longitudinal plant distribution of 5 sunflower genotypes (Catissol, AG 967, MG 50, AG 960 and M-734) grown without tilling for 7 years was determined in a field experiment conducted in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2005. Precision planting and fertilizer application equipment with pneumatic seed distribution systems carried out the sowing. The distance between the plants was obtained in each genotype from 2 linear metres in 15 points during the flowering period.
