The RESIDIV project aims to improve our knowledge on the resistance diversity of Chinese rice cultivars and on the diversity of the pathogen for its ability to attack resistant cultivars. The results of the RESIDIV project will be exploited through conventional breeding methods using natural defence systems. The project will use 3 different strategies to improve the identification of genes for resistance to blast (Magnaporthe grisea) in rice cultivars.
