Reaction of mung bean and urd bean genotypes against insect pests and yellow mosaic virus

The response of 17 mung bean genotypes and 16 urd bean (Vigna mungo) genotypes to yellow mosaic virus and Helicoverpa armigera was evaluated in Hisar, Haryana, India. Seeds were sown on 17 July 2001. The population of whitefly was evaluated at the 50% pod formation stage. Based on the results of initial evaluation, 12 mung bean genotypes and 16 urd bean genotypes were selected for further assessment on the second year.
