Relativity of content of extractive with acid-alkali property of Acacia mangium Willd wood

The extractive content and acid-alkali property of Acacia mangium wood were investigated and their relationship was determined. A. mangium wood was acidic with pH at 5.34. The acid and alkaline buffering capacities of the wood were 0.142 and 0.053 nmol, respectively. The extractive content in treatments with cold water, hot water, 1% NaOH and benzene alcohol were 4.84, 5.75, 15.98 and 6.09%, respectively.
