The prevalence of V. jacobsoni and its reproductive capability in A. cerana and A. mellifera in Vietnam were determined. It was shown that the prevalence of mite infection was highest in honey bees aged 5-6 days and lowest in those aged 30 days. A low prevalence of infection was also recorded in 1-day-old honey bees. The longer the infection time in the worker honey bees, the higher was the reproductive capability of V. jacobsoni.
