Results are given of a grazing management study conducted during September 1997-February 2001 in New South Wales, Australia. The aim of the study was to investigate the use of strategic resting periods to improve the growth and vigour of perennial grasses. The pasture consisted of phalaris (Phalaris aquatica Sirosa), subterranean clover (Trifolium subterraneum Seaton Park) and lucerne (Medicago sativa Sirosa).
